UCF may have held on to beat Baylor in this year's Tostito's Fiesta Bowl but check the uniform box-score and you'll find Bears near the top in all of college football.
Baylor busted out their gold HydroChrome helmets, finished by Hydro Graphics Inc., which they paired with their black and gold Nike uniforms. The blackout uniforms debuted earlier in the year in their Big 12 matchup against West Virginia.
HGI helmets were abound throughout the bowl season. Take a look back at the Orange Bowl (Ohio State), Chick-fil-A Bowl (Texas A&M), Valero Alamo Bowl (Oregon) or even the Pinstripe bowl which pitted the golden chrome helmet (Notre Dame) vs. the armor tested helmet of the Scarlet Knights (Rutgers).
Though the chrome helmet fad may die out, HGI is part of the fashion movement of collegiate football that just may be the driving force keeping the eyeballs of sport fans across the country on the gridiron.
Take a look at some of the helmets HGI has finished for their clients and post your favorite below in the comments.
