JC Penney wins the first half drunk tweeter award

UPDATE: Looks like J. C. Penney may have won social media tonight after all. No Super Bowl commercial and no hype coming into the game and they have made considerable noise with their #TweetingWithMittens campaign.

Featuring the Team USA mittens and misspelled tweets, @jcpenney has already picked up nearly 40,000 retweets. I'd call that a good night for the brand. Two mitten thumbs up.

Back to back drunk tweets from J. C. Penney during the Super Bowl. Somebody cut them off, or at least take away their smartphone.

In the book of things not to do in the social media era, drunk smartphone usage has to be at the top of the list, especially when running an account of a major brand.
Spellings here weren't even close, and they can't even blame the cold weather in East Rutherford on this one.

Toughdown? I mean, yes it's been a tough down for Denver but certainly not the Seadawks or the Seahawks. Remember kids don't drink and run a social media account of a major brand if you want to remain employed come Monday morning.

Perhaps next year they should stick to the pre scheduled social media content, somebody is not ready for the big leagues.
