UPDATE: Looks like J. C. Penney may have won social media tonight after all. No Super Bowl commercial and no hype coming into the game and they have made considerable noise with their #TweetingWithMittens campaign.
Featuring the Team USA mittens and misspelled tweets, @jcpenney has already picked up nearly 40,000 retweets. I'd call that a good night for the brand. Two mitten thumbs up.

H&M Steps onto Super Bowl Boulevard with #Covered or #Uncovered
H&M in a Super Bowl state of mind? They sure were as they sent brand ambassadors out onto Super Bowl Boulevard, most famously known as Broadway.
Capitalizing on their prime store locations and the hype of the big game, H&M had passersby vote on their upcoming Super Bowl ad featuring famous football star, David Beckham. Vote #Covered to see an ad featuring a clothed Beckham or #Uncovered to see a, well you know.
Ugly Sweaters for Team USA?
Ralph Lauren has done it again! The 2014 winter olympics in Sochi are just under 5 days away and Ralph Lauren is under fire for team uniforms that resemble the ugliest of sweaters. Many will remember the heat the company took at the last olympic games for not manufacturing the uniforms in the United States.
Take a look below and you'll be able to see Julie Chu of the United States women's ice hockey team and Zach Parise of the men's team sporting the full opening ceremony gear. The gear is sure to make some noise for the iconic American brand, though whether or not the noise is positive for the brand may be a different question.

#Chinos4Jim #GetHarbaughInBonobos; Harbaugh's fashion taste called into question
It's NFL Championship week as the New England Patriots travel to Colorado to take on the Denver Bronocos in the AFC Championship game and the San Francisco 49ers head north to Washington to take on the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game. And what is the hot topic you may ask? Fashion. Chinos to be more exact.
If you somehow missed the story this week, Sarah Harbaugh, wife of the San Francisco 49ers head coach, let the nation know that her husband will only wear $8 pleated chinos that he buys at Walmart. Fashion faux pas.
Banana Republic took the opportunity to launch the hashtag #CHINOS4JIM. Banana Republic was founded just 14 miles north of San Francisco in nearby Mill Valley.

Hydro Graphics Inc., the real winners of the BCS Bowl Week
UCF may have held on to beat Baylor in this year's Tostito's Fiesta Bowl but check the uniform box-score and you'll find Bears near the top in all of college football.
Baylor busted out their gold HydroChrome helmets, finished by Hydro Graphics Inc., which they paired with their black and gold Nike uniforms. The blackout uniforms debuted earlier in the year in their Big 12 matchup against West Virginia.
